Learn music in braille! Braille music is a braille code that allows music to be notated using braille cells so music can be read by visually impaired musicians. The system was incepted by Louis Braille. Braille music uses the same six-position braille cell as literary braille. When Louis Braille began developing his six-dot code for blind readers, he didn't just want to use it to read books. He taught music and played the piano, organ, and cello, so he also created a way to read and write music. (Ref. Wikipedia) Music Studio 60 facilitates music lessons for vision impaired students. Brisbane music teacher, Hayley, a vision-impaired singer trained as an opera singer recently transitioned to contemporary indie folk music. Hayley performs live as a singer and also writes and records her own original compositions. Music Studio 60 has designed a Braille vocal training course for vision-impaired vocalists which is available now. It is specifically designed to teach reading Braille music, improve voice technique, breathing and other important skills to give you a performance edge. Tuition is designed for beginners through to experienced singers with masterclasses designed for vocalists requiring advanced skills. Music lessons are available in our studios in Hawthorne East Brisbane and 60 Maine Road, Clontarf on the Redcliffe Peninsula or online if desired via Zoom or Skype. Hayley can also teach at individual residences, Brisbane Metropolitan area only. (Covid-19 guidelines apply). Please note all lessons occur within the hours of 7:00 am to 9:00 pm AEST Payments can be made via Music Studio 60 website, cash, direct debit, credit card or Paypal.
